Basic Proper Nutrition Guidelines

“Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” Hippocrates Proper nutrition is the absolute key to good health. The more you can learn about what your body requires nutritionally the better equipped you will be to create and maintain optimum health. As we all know life isn’t much if we don’t have good health!

There are thousands of websites and blogs on the internet featuring advise about health and nutrition so we won’t take a lot of time here to go into that but If you have a desire to have more energy, to sleep better, to experience the mental clarity you once had then here are our basic recommended nutritional guidelines:

Untitled-21.Reduce or eliminate processed sugar including artificial sweeteners. This means soda pop! It’s the #1 enemy to your health!
2.Remove white flour from your diet and limit the amount of whole grains you consume (anything with yeast in it can be a problem)
3.Reduce or eliminate your dairy intake – Most people whether they realize it or not do not process dairy well. BLCF Co-Owner Kelly Moore likes to say ‘Cow’s Milk was made for growing cows not people’.
4.Consider nutritional cleansing or detoxing at least once or twice a year. We are so constantly bombarded by a world of chemicals through our air, water and foods. Cleansing and detoxifying are must!
5.Water WaterWater! Drink water, your life depends on it. Add slices of lemons, limes, cucumber, oranges or mint to spruce it up.
6.Raw foods are best but not always possible. Just remember that your body needs the live enzymes from raw foods such as fruits and vegetables. Think Green! The more greens you can feed your body the more life force you will have.
7.Healthy fats are a must. Take the time to learn the difference between good fats and bad fats. Our brain, joints, hair and skin depend on these good fats. Our favorite recommended good fats are coconut oil, avocado, olive oil and nuts and seeds.
