Sheena Hammer
Owner/Head Coach
Sheena’s love for fitness began at the early age of 3 when she started her gymnastics journey. It led her to a full ride gymnastics scholarship at Southern Utah University where she competed as an all-around gymnast and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education. Teaching high level gymnastics and working as an esthetician became the next phase of life for Sheena while starting a family.
Her love of CrossFit began pretty much immediately when she started classes at CrossFit the Club in the fall of 2011. She signed up for her first CrossFit competition after only 3 months and was hooked! She then went on to qualify for crossfit regionals in 2012 as an individual, 2013 as a team, 2014 as team and then went on to the crossfit games and placed 7th in the world. In 2015 again a qualifier for regionals as a team, 2016 was part of another games team as the alternate, 2017 another individual qualifier to regionals as well as 2018. Since 2020 she has been competing as a masters making it to the semifinals each year and plans to continue to compete as long as she can.
She started coaching CrossFit gymnastics in 2014 and has coached CrossFit ever since. Sheena and her husband took over as owners in 2020 of Ben Lomond CrossFit. She loves helping people better their health, build their confidence, and help them see their full potential in a fun supportive atmosphere in the gym!

Brayton Bell
Coach
Brayton grew up as an offensive lineman until he graduated high school. He went to his first semester of college weighing 250 lbs, which was the heaviest he had ever been. He was able to drop 80lbs in 9 months with the help of a nutrition coach, through that transformation he found his passion for fitness and got his personal training certification.
Shortly after that, Ben Lomond CrossFit owners Matt and Sheena Hammer invited him to come workout and talk to him about the opportunity of coaching a CrossFit class. Even though it was an intimidating environment, the longer he stuck with it, the more he realized Ben Lomond CrossFit was a second home for him.

Jamie Bengston
Coach
Jamie hails from Chippewa Falls, Wi. Just ask her to say “bag” or “straggle”! She has been doing the CrossFit thing since 2013, and coaching since 2017; has been coaching at BCLF since spring of 2021. She has her CrossFit L1, L2, CrossFit Gymnastics certification, USAW Weightlifting L1, and a Precision Nutrition L1. She LOVES to get her Active Life certification(next on her list!).
She has been active her whole life and found CrossFit after burning out on competitive running in college. Tried her first class and absolutely hated it because she sucked so bad at everything! But she came back 3 months later because she realized how out of shape she was, and she realized she needed to ask herself to do hard things. It’s good for her mental health as well as good for her physical health. Her goal is to be a badass senior someday!
It’s inspiring and motivating to be in the CrossFit space with other individuals trying to better their lives! CrossFit is all about doing what you can, challenging yourself and the community. At BLCF we are excited to be part of your new extended fitness family! She loves the relationships she gets to build with members and also her favorite is seeing a member have a lightbulb moment with skills! She also loves a good deadlift day ;)

Jake Walker
Coach
A proper native Michigander, Jake was born with a pair of hockey skates on his feet and really hasn’t stopped moving since then. His first experience with Crossfit was in college in 2013, and after a hiatus focusing on powerlifting, Jake returned to the community in 2021 and subsequently earned his CF-L1 in 2023 to begin coaching at Ben Lomond Crossfit. Since then, he has competed in several competitions and is always looking for opportunities to push himself in the gym.
Jake loves how Crossfit can equip everyone, from the experienced athlete to the beginner, with the tools and program necessary to build elite fitness. All while providing a supportive and encouraging community. As a coach, Jake loves to learn and continue to develop his own skills to best serve the athletes that put in work at BLCF, day in and day out.
Outside of the gym, Jake loves to apply the Crossfit mentality of “our specialty is not specializing,” by dabbling in a lot of hobbies, including hockey, skiing, golfing, playing drums, riding his motorcycle, and occasionally being dragged up a mountain by his wife, Meagan.

Whitney Fraden
Coach
Whitney has been doing CrossFit since 2016 and after years of wanting to coach, her sweet husband encouraged her to get her Level 1 in 2022. Her favorite movement in CrossFit is pretty controversial, the thruster and her least favorite movement is the snatch balance. Whitney is a mom of 4 wonderful kids that keep her on her toes, and she works part time as a traveling vampire, (meaning phlebotomist ) and is able to be home with her kids during the day. When she’s not CrossFit’ing she loves to read, rock climb, and go canyoneering. She absolutely loves CrossFit and loves coaching. She continues to enjoy CrossFit daily because the community has become like family and her support system. She has gained life long friendships as well as life long habits that improve her life daily through CrossFit and she shares that with others.
